A Springtime English Country Wedding

Alice & Rich : Rockbeare Manor : May 2018

I’m so excited to share this beautiful wedding at Rockbeare Manor, Exeter in May this year.

Family played a big part in Alice and Rich’s big day. Alice fell in love with Rockbeare Manor after being introduced to it by Rich’s sister who is Director at this luxury wedding venue based just outside the village of Rockbeare, Exeter.

A theme of rustic and vintage charm ran through the day, from large milk churns overflowing with eucalyptus, small vases filly their reception table to an elegant ceremony arch draped with lace and florals.

Our floral brief was for a fresh, clean palette of crisp white florals and a heavy focus on foliage.

Alice’s bouquet was an oversized natural handtied arrangement flowing with eucalyptus, silvery poplus, bold white peonies and garden roses, creating an amazing fresh floral scent. We then added light weight white florals including veronica, sweet pea, scabiosa and astrantia, all which added natural movement to this wonderful, show stopping bridal bouquet. Beautifully fresh for a May wedding in the Devon countryside

We really went for the wow factor for guests as they entered Rockbeare Manor. Their stunning marbled entrance fireplace was dressed with an abundance of fresh foliage including trailing jasmine and ferns then we finished it off with a slight touch of white flower.

As guests moved through to the ceremony room, heavy milk churns lined the corridor filled with foliage

Table plans and order of the day signage were all finished with a touch of foliage.

Rockbeare Manor’s fabulous ceremony room is hard not to fall in love with it’s crystal sparkling chandelier. We added a touch of rustic charm to this wonderfully elegant room with our birch arch draped in lace and tied back with ‘just gathered’ styled posies.

Following the service, the rustic arch moved to frame the entrance into the ballroom

The light and airy ballroom at Rockbeare Manor really is a blank canvas and we, as florists that work regularly at Rockbeare get to dress it in so many ways.

A current favourite this year for wedding table decoration is the use of heavy foliage runners.

Alice and Rich held a banquet style wedding breakfast and we styled their table with a huge 50 foot foliage runner with silvery eucalyptus and feathery ferns.

To add some variation and height to the wedding breakfast table glass bud vases were woven through the foliage table runner, filled with a variety of crisp white flowers, including tulips, roses, stocks and veronica. Rockbeare Manor’s ballroom looked so clean and springtime fresh with the green and white colour palette.

Even the cake was finished off with a touch of flower and foliage.

Alice and Rich were a dream to work with and it was a total pleasure working on their special day and it was lovely to have a little note from Alice after her big day which just makes our job so much worthwhile.

“A very BIG thank you for the most stunning flowers!! My bouquet was dreamy!!!”

Special thanks to Barrel and Lace for styling the day with us And to Katherine and Stephen and Nova Photography for creating such beautiful images of this wonderful.
